See The Game in action

This is not a game on paper, it plays out in the streets and inside your head.

What is The Game?

The Game is NEVERREST’s cinematic city game. Since 2000 we have been crafting a mix of challenges, unexpected twists and steadily rising tension, our trademark Solid Paranoia, with professional actors who respond live to your group. Physically undemanding, mentally intense.

The adventure: three phases

1

Wonder

Your group arrives at a central square in the city. Nobody knows what is about to happen. NEVERREST is not yet visible, but very much present, from the first moment you are drawn into a mysterious, intriguing world.

2

Tension & paranoia

The moment your team sets off, the paranoia takes over. Every glance could be a hint. That unremarkable passer-by? Possibly an actor. The missions are challenging, but thanks to a helpline you never get stuck, and the tension keeps building.

3

The reveal

Everything comes together at the final location of your choice. Over drinks, a personal look back follows, full of anecdotes and hilarious moments, humour, recognition and emotion in one moment of genuine connection.

Four reasons to choose The Game

Original

An event that genuinely moves people: 70% of our bookings come from enthusiastic word of mouth. This is not just another city game, but an experience that exceeds expectations.

Challenge & teamwork

Small teams of 4–6 people keep everyone actively involved. The missions are challenging, yet very achievable as a team, nobody stands on the sidelines.

Professional guidance

Led by an experienced event manager and crew: for a group of 40 we easily bring 7 people. Every detail is right, every moment is directed.

Safety first

No risky or physically demanding challenges: you move through the city on foot, and the tension plays out in your head. Alcohol only at the drinks afterwards, safe and fully focused.

Frequently asked questions about The Game

What does The Game cost per person?
It depends on group size and on the number of acts. The Game is played without acts, or with one, two or three acts added. Without acts The Game costs €920 up to 10 people (€92 p.p.), €1,940 at 30 people (€65 p.p.), €2,950 at 50 people (€59 p.p.) and €9,060 at 200 people (€46 p.p.). With all three acts it is €1,890 up to 10 people, €3,170 at 30 people, €4,590 at 50 people and €12,750 at 200 people. One or two acts sit in between; the brochure lists every step and what an act involves. All amounts exclude VAT and include game direction, film and materials. Why the spread? The Game is a production: the gamemaster, the crew, the technology and the film edit are largely fixed, whether ten or a hundred people take part. With a small team you divide those fixed costs over fewer people. That is why up to 10 people you pay the same total of €920 without acts: a team of five gets the same production as a team of ten. Venue hire, catering and transport are arranged separately. See the full price table for every group size and the effect of the acts.
Can a colleague join who cannot walk far, due to an injury, recovery from surgery, pregnancy, heart problems or lower fitness?
Yes, almost always. The Game is a walking experience: roughly 2 to 4 kilometres, depending on the city, how far you get and where you start. Anyone who walks normally covers it easily in an hour, but with missions every 200 to 300 metres it stretches into an afternoon programme, and a terrace break is always possible. Let us know in advance who it concerns and we will plan for it: that team can start closer to the first mission, we take it into account from the outset, and we proactively call this colleague on the team phone. A bicycle (rental or a colleague’s) is often a great solution: you cycle from mission to mission and can lean on it. In some cases a wheelchair is welcome (heavily pregnant, recovering from surgery or injury, if the person is comfortable with it), and heading to the final location early is always an option.
In which cities can The Game be played?
In 30+ cities across the Netherlands and Belgium, from Amsterdam and Rotterdam to Maastricht, Antwerp and Ghent, and beyond on request, such as Paris. See our city game page for the cities.
How long does The Game take?
4.5 hours as standard, including kick-off and a final presentation with film and award ceremony. The walking route through the city is 2 to 4 kilometres, at an easy pace. We can shorten the programme or extend it with lunch, drinks or dinner.
Is The Game suitable for people who get nervous easily?
Yes. Thrilling is the goal, uncomfortable never: the director adjusts the intensity live to the group, there is no running or climbing, and participants decide for themselves how close they get to the action.
Can The Game be played in English, for international teams?
Fully, English, Dutch or a mix of languages. International and mixed teams play every week.

When do you choose The Game?
